Colours?
The actual colour of a garment may not match exactly to the photos seen on your computer screen. Lighting on the fabric, computer monitors and printers may alter the color somewhat.
It is also worth noting that different batches of dyes (dye lots) can sometimes introduce slight variations in the colour. For this reason, we recommend ordering all gowns for the group at the same time.
Can I purchase Hills in Hollywood dresses over the Internet?
We do not recommend the purchase of our dresses over the Internet. We urge you to deal directly with our authorized retailers to ensure a stress free and satisfying shopping experience. By using a full service shop, a professional will be there to help you through every step of the process to ensure your night is perfect.
A dress purchased over the internet is generally a cheap copy and are usually made from inferior materials, have less beading, less structure and shaping.
The risk of dealing with somebody you can't meet face to face can be high and very expensive. We have seen all the problems and all the tricks:
- hidden charges like customs duties
- incorrectly sized gowns
- incorrectly coloured gowns
- cheaper fabrics
- missing accessories
- less beading
- late delivery
- in the worst case -- NO DELIVERY!
Remember, you will need to send your gown back overseas if you have any problems, usually at your expense.
In addition, all the affiliation they list like the Better Business Bureau are usually fake.
What is the National Dress Register?
There is nothing worse than turning up at an event and there being one, two or three other girls in the same dress as you... and what's worse.... a TEACHER!!
Hills in Hollywood own the exclusive rights to NIGHTMOVES, ALLURE, BARIJAY and SHIMMER labels for Australia and New Zealand.
This means, that when you purchase a dress from Hills In Hollywood, it is registered on the National Dress Register and displayed on the website as the style number to your event (no customer information is displayed).
With this listing in place, no other Hills In Hollywood store or stockist in Australia and New Zealand will sell that style to that event. Not even in another colour!!
Some formal wear stores have registers, but is it NATIONAL??? Ours is!
How much are your dresses?
Please look at our store listing on our website for the phone numbers of stores near you. We are sure you will be pleased with our pricing structure especially considering our quality, exclusive range, value and styling.
Do stores stock a large range of dresses?
Yes! A huge array of gowns in most style is displayed in our stores. Please contact stores if there is a particular dress you are interested in, to see if it's in stock. In addition, because we have many stores Australia wide, we can transfer dresses from store to store if required.
Can I order extra fabric?
You can! We prefer to order extra fabric when you order your gown to ensure the correct colours.
What sizes are your dresses available in?
- The Shimmer special occasion and prom collection are available from sizes 0 to 14
- Nightmoves Prom are available in sizes 0 - 32
- The Allure Bridal gowns are available in sizes 2 - 32
- Allure Womens Gowns are available in sizes 16W - 32W
- Allure Bridesmaids dresses are available in sizess 2 - 28
- The Bari Jay Bridesmaids collection is available from sizes 2 - 28w
- Jr. Bridesmaids range from sizes 8 - 18
In addition, select Bridesmaids styles are also available in Maternity.
Do you have plus size samples?
We have a great selection of plus sizes in most designs.
Do you cater for Mother of the bride or groom?
Yes, we have many options for the modern mother of the bride or groom. Gowns worn with shawls are now a common outfit for this event.
Will I need alterations?
Because our dresses are not made to measure, about 95% of customers require some sort of alteration for the dress to fit properly and be the most flattering it can be. Some stores have an in-store alteration service, and other stores will recommend a reputable alterer locally to you. Remember that all gowns can be taken in from the side or back seams and straps can be shortened or added (included with most of our strapless dresses).
Do you offer extra length?
Yes, we offer a standard extra length of 5 inches.
How long does delivery take?
In general, from the date your order is made, it takes approximately 12-16 weeks. Rush orders (6 to 8 weeks) are accepted on selected styles. Sometimes the dress may already be in stock, due to arrive or can be sent from another Hills in Hollywood store.
Can I purchase any shawl or wrap to match the dresses?
Yes, we offer shawls or wraps to match all our fabrications for a small charge.
Do you offer maternity or junior bridesmaid dresses?
Select styles are available in maternity styling. If a style is unavailable in maternity styling, many pregnant attendants anticipate by ordering a larger size in the style they want or ordering fabric to help alter the dress better.
Do you have layby?
Every Hills In Hollywood store has layby terms which can vary from store to store. Talk to your nearest store to discuss layby requirements.
Do you offer Hoop hire?
Generally yes; please check with the store when trying on dresses.
Do I need to make an appointment to try on bridal dresses?
Each store differs, but if you prefer the full attention of a bridal consultant, an appointment would be recommended, especially on weekends.
What should I bring to my bridal appointment?
Bring pictures of dresses you've seen on our website, or magazines, and don't be surprised if you find your perfect dress on your first visit.
Who should I bring to my bridal appointment?
Bring the closest friend or family member whose opinion you value and who knows you well. Bringing more than 3 others can take the focus off you.
How far in advance do I need to buy my gown?
It's best to allow 6-9 months before your wedding to order a gown. Gowns can also be purchased off the rack.
What is the return policy?
Please check with your nearest store for return policies before purchasing your garment.
